There are days when the world
seems so dreary,
your life's all computers and phones;
when a sudden flash of bright color
sends a thrill right down to your bones!
and just who are you, you cute
little thing,
to flirt with an old dog like me?
I'd get up and play with you, sure,
if I could,
but I haven't the energy!
It's hard when you've gathered
too may things,
And you find that your house
is too small.
You just have to tap all your
creative brain
to try and accomodate all!
You featured these
treacherous creatures,
when you talked about snails
and their "art".
So a word, please, for us
helpless victims,
whose petals are all torn apart!!
I get all stirred up when the rains come
and lose all control when storms start.
But, seeing myself through the
raindrops,
it's nice when it looks like art!
You people have challenges too,
I know,
with obstacles all of your own;
but think what it takes
for a wee leaf like me
to break through a ceiling of stone!
I know when you see
a small mushroom like me,
You'll think it's not much
that you found.
But don't make a bet,
you mustn't forget
there are miles more of me
underground!
You used to be part of my world,
you know,
though you may not remember,
it's true.
You've had a long climb
from my humble state,
but I'm still growing, - are you?
