Poise

                      
                   It used to be that we'd struggle and sweat.
                     to achieve all those moves on the floor;
                     but in aging, I find, I can ease my mind:
                           no need to do that any more!

Guardian

                     What story, d'you think, this image creates?
                          To me it's a soldier, guarding the gate.

Bubble boy

                              Hey little bubbly  fellow.
                      you'd better not jump in that pool;
          cuz when you come back you'll be dripping with black 
                     and they won't want you back at school!

Droopy

                       Oh poor little doe you're looking so sad,
                  I know how it feels when you're close to tears;
                     I wish, when I'm sad and feeling that bad,
                            that I, too, could droop my ears!

Progresssion

                                 It looks like a question,
                                        there's a sense of compression...
                                                 a touch of aggression?, 
                                                       or is it depression?         
                 for me- indigestion!                             
                                                enough  intercession! 
                  I call for - regression!                                             
                                       
                                            let's' make a concession              
                                                    just call it a question,
                                                        end this damn session,                          
                                                                  ……and freshen
   

Beginnings

                        I know I'm not much to look at.
                    but that's how we're 'sposed to begin;
                 and if I have my way, then by golly, someday,
                            I'm gonna be one big limb!

Family frolic

                   
                          If you think of our colors as families,
                                and see how they get along;
                         here's Father Brown, sashaying around,
                          and his gang is all singing his song.

Scenic greens?

                              I went to this fancy restaurant,
                         and, because I needed some greens,
                I ordered some salad, I thought that was valid,
                        and they brought me this exotic scene.

Glamour?

                    Why is it that all our new movie queens
                           all seem to need dental work?
              ...with eyes like a shrew and a real bad shampoo,
                          are we all going to end up berserk?

Minnie's gift

                If you want to give someone a special gift,
                      something that's really worth while;
                 it's easy, - just do what you see Minnie do, - 
                           give them a big hearty smile!

…just looking

                    I confess there are many times in the day
                    when I don't do the things that I ought' a;
                  but then I have found I can settle things down 
                         just watching the sun on the water.

Fishy stuff

                 A fish in the sea you can find if you wish.
              but where else can you find the sea on a fish?

                       They're all just innocent blades of grass,
                        at least that's the way they appear;
                    then why the alarm, who'd wish them harm,
                          why do they need those spears???

Destiny

 When I see these two sprigs together

side by side on the tree,

I envy her so cuz she doesn't know

that's how she's going to be .

Power!

                            Oh what a mighty contraption can do
                       to strengthen weakening muscles for you!

Doorman?

                    If you saw this monster guarding a store

                  Wouldn't you want to use the back door?

                           

Study

                    Well…what can I say about what you're seeing;

                            let's just call it a study in green.

Thistle be silly

                           I try to keep up with the greenery
                           and I don't want to seem prejudicial;
                   but I do want to know, cuz it bothers me so,
                             what is the excuse for a thistle?

Mystery man

                        Just what is the message you want to convey,
                                  oh mystical man on the wall?                      
                    Are you so proud of the crown on your brow, 
                           or just sticking your tongue at us all?

Openings

                                        Oh what a glorious day to behold
                          when the new roses begin to unfold!                        


       

Bridge?

                       Is this the proverbial bridge to nowhere.
                               …...    or simply a nowhere bridge??

Overkill?

                            This fellow is clearly preparing
                         for some conflict he'll have to resist;
                             but it's hard to see what enemy
                        would require as much armor as this.

High life

                    When you've had your fill of the city
                       and are tired of the milling crowds;
                       just close your eyes and fantasize
                  that you're living up there in the clouds.

Apparition?

                                    When I first caught a glimpse of this lady.
                               she gave me a bit of a fright;
                  from the back of the room she emerged in the gloom,

                   I ought to feel guilty seeing you there:

Easter!

                   
                       I looked through the pictures I'd taken,
                     and, for Easter. which one would be right;
                     One thing I was sure, it had to be pure,
                      …and holy,..and soul-ly, ..and white.

A ratty tale

This is the rat
      that came and sat
           in my nice little birdie's habitat

                  I could have spat,
                       but what good was that?
                         He just kept munching  and sitting there pat

                              I had no cat
                                 to chase the rat
                                       so I just had to holler a terrified "Scat"!
                                               
              and that, I'm happy to say,
                                               ….was that!
