Crowned

                              Well I don't blame you, fellow,
                             for that strange look in your eye;
                              if someone put a crown on me,
                                 I, too, would wonder why!

Who's You?

                                  Now that this year has come to a close,
                             with all of its days put to bed;
                    do you think of the person you've left behind,

                          Oh what a thankful person am I,
                   that settings like this can come to my eye!

              When he stands up like that and gives me that stare
                        I tell you, I'd follow him anywhere!

                   When  Santa begins to send out his crew,
                   and too much excitement surrounds you;
                  if it all seems unreal, it helps when you feel
                         a comfortable arm around you.

Preface

           Well all right, it's December, we might as well start
                       seeing some colorful Santa Claus art.

                            Isn' it nice to see kids having fun
                           with nary a bullet or battle or gun?

                       Now I know I should eat more veggies,

                                   that I can understand;

                    but I can't think it's right to take even a bite

                       of something they call "Buddha's hand"

                                      It's always a comforting sight to see
                               such warming displays of diversity!

Thank-fulness

                           I find it hard, Thanksgiving-time,
                            to name all the thanks I'm owing;
                            how can I list each gracious gift
                            when my vessel's overflowing?

Welcome committee

                         Sometimes we go welcome the ferry
                           when  the tourists visit the bay;
                    it gives them a shock to see us on the dock
                        but we hope they'll remember the day.

Be-leaf

                        Well I tell you, this is hard to believe, -
                that the wind could cut a neat path through the leaves!

Himself

                              When royalty's put on a throne.
                              and crowds go by to observe it,
                            it's nice to see, when they look at me,
                                that they realize I deserve it!

                        I wonder if clouds can appreciate
                      the spectacular scenery they can create.

                 The lady seems tempted to go through that door, - 
                    might she see something she's not seen before?

                      O.K. sonny boy, you've had your day,

                         He looked at me as if to say "what
                     do you think I did with my other foot?"

Pumpkin puzzle

                   But pumpkins are orange and round, I say,
                and  these are the pumpkins they're showing today???

Lunar light

                         When all that you hear on screen or by ear
                                     is about  tragedy and pain,
                       and then the new moon peaks out through the trees 
                                and you find you have hope again.

See lady?

                           If we never have seen a mermaid, chum,
                            can we say this lady might not be one?

Waiting?

                                I see this fellow waiting,
                               whenever I go by his door.
                         But what can I do? If only I knew
                             just what he was waiting for!

Sleepy-time talk

                             This is an ode to my pillow
                               I know it's silly, but still-o;
               it engulfs me just right when I sink in at night
                         and sends me off sliding down hill-o. 

Gone!

                        I see these monsters tearing things up,
                             it's not a rare sight around here ;
                  but it gives me a start and touches my heart,
                           to see someone's home disappear.

Hiatus

        
                    I know you're expecting your daily muse,
                   but I have to give you this tidbit of news:
         that these Stones, that have been such a crutch for me,
                  have lately become just too much for me;
          that all of the searching and snapping and rhymes
                  have exhausted my energy too many times.
               
           Though I'll still seek for "moments" to catch on my way,
                    I just won't be publishing every day.
               So thanks for the patience you've had all along,
                  and thank you for letting me sing my song!

Catastrophe

                           Mon Dieu and Merde, vot haf I done,
                         my boutique no longer is number one!

Decisions!

              Have  you ever felt forces competing like this
                    when you're trying to make a decision:
                         "if I do this, then that will do that", 
                       nothing but visions, divisions, collisions!

Book-ing

                      We are all familiar with what a book is.
                         and we know how it ought to look;
                     but then there are those who'll put on a show
                         to  see what can be done with books.

                                 Yes, it's just an old building, 
                               and I've seen it again and  again;
                             but I saw it today in a different way, 
                            and I got to take shots in the RAIN!!!

Dreamer

                               Oh what a wistful pup is this,
                            I wonder what's calling to him? 
                         Does he want to go for a ride on that boat,
'                            or jump in for a bracing swim?

                        When I saw these gentle creatures
                                  on my neighbor's lawn,
                                 I had to ask the question,
                                      Is his mower gone?

                            When I saw these dear little faces
                                looking at me from the wall,
                               they were so shy, so appealing,
                                 I sent my regards to them all. 

Bonding

                      Building the bond between father and son?
                            May it always be a felicitous one!

Linear likings

                                 How intriguing it is that hypnotic designs
                        can be concocted with simple straight lines.

Look up

                          If you're looking for action and drama,

                             something that catches your eye;

                  just put down your book and take a good look

                                  at what's going on in the sky.

Money matters

                          Dispensing the cash in an earlier day, - 
                      they say that's the highest it ever could pay!

Hi there!!

                        Isn't it nice when you're out on the go,
                      that folks can all give you a friendly "hello".

Window?

I wondered how it came to be,

that almost perfect ring?   

                                was it to let something peek out
                                    or to let someone peek in?

Disturbing….

                           I saw this turbulence out on the sea,
                        something breaking the surf from below;
                  and it looked like some whale was chasing his tail,
                               but I guess I will never know.

Times three

                          If one can have fun on an inland sea,
                    just think of the fun you can have with three!

Wave action

                             How is it that each fresh new wave
                                    thinks he can beat them all:
                         out-pound the guys and get the prize 
                                   of  bringing down the wall.

                 If each sail takes a man to climb up the mast,

                  Awaiting its turn on the exercise table,
                          it imagines a life of its own,
                 with visions of moves and manipulations

                          Oh what a magical moment for me:

 No matter how much we think we're aware,

Other worlds

                    I love seeing ladies like this in our stores,
                          wearing such colorful gear.
                  Most of us won't see them in their world,
                   I'm glad that they bring their world here.

Cleanup day

                 Oh what a joy when you throw out your junk.
                    and you build up a pile that's obscene;
                     and then the next day it is taken away.
                      and everything's left squeaky clean!
