Specialist

                                      There are many demanding professions
                                          that challenge the best in a man;
                                            if you're needing a test of his talents,
                                                what would be your final exam?

Collector's gem?

                            Some fellows have fun collecting dead cars,
                                it must be some kind of disease;
                                  When I saw this go by, I was tempted to cry,
                                    "are you sure your wife will be pleased?"

Checked out?

 

                                      Surely I must have been dreaming,
                                          to have seen this checkered display;
                                          ... a bothersome view, did you see it too?
                                                    If not, better haul me away!

Cormorant clash?

                             When you're out there with all your companions,
                                   your sisters and brothers and mother;
                                      with all of that striving and dipping and diving,
                                           don't you ever bump into each other?

Second Glance

   

                                   To see some small stones and a jug on a shelf,
                                        might not capture your eye at first start;
                                           but it all goes to show how the plain things we know
                                               can become ennobled by art.

Shades of grey

  

                                There are times that are not good but not really bad,
                                    like the sky at the end of the day;
                                       the sun's just gone down but there's light still around,
                                             and everything's in shades of grey.

Daily wisdom

                                       As we travel along life's highway,
                                           immersed in its twists and its turns.
                                              it's helpful to find great thoughts of mankind,
                                                     to resolve all our daily concerns.
